Wednesday Feb 05, 2025
Wednesday Feb 05, 2025
In this week's episode in our "Lies of Satan" series, we will be discussing a messages that you have likely heard someone say many times, or even said yourself. "I don't need to go to church to love Jesus or be a Christian" (or some variation of that message) is one of the most insidious lies that Satan uses. In fact, so many people have bought into the lie that is just beneath the surface of this statement that it has become so commonplace that a majority of church goers have likely said it, too!
Songs have been made promoting this theme and jokes told, and yet while there is a kernel of truth to it, this week Pastor Justin shines light on the underlying message and exposes it for the dangerous motif it is.

In this episode of Anchored by the Word, we introduce the new series, "Lies of Satan." In this (and each each future) episode of the Lies of Satan series, Pastor Justin will address "spiritual sounding" statements like this "God won't give you more than you can handle," explain the danger it poses, and unpack the scriptural truth that that makes this lie so believable.

Wednesday Jan 01, 2025
One of the most commonly (and often exasperatedly) asked questions in churches today is "which translation of the Bible should I use? There's only 2700 to choose from!" Should we use the English Standard Version? The King James Version? What about the New International Version or the Christian Standard Bible? Well, in this episode, Pastor Justin will answer that question with an eye toward maintaining unity in the church.
